Three reasons generators fail to start
at the time of emergency

Air in the Fuel System

Air in the Fuel System

This is a common problem with generators that are not run and tested on a regular basis. Air can enter the fuel system at loose joints in the piping or through a spray nozzle that does not close properly. Letting the generator run out of fuel will also cause air to enter the system. GAL power can train your staff to carry our necessary checks.

Fuel Contamination

Fuel Contamination

Many diesel engine operating troubles result directly or indirectly from dirt in the fuel system. That is why proper fuel storage and handling are so important. One of the most important aspects of diesel fuel is quality of fuel. Depending on the type and severity of the contamination it can clog filters, damage engine injectors or cause the total failure of the generator, pump or engine.

Fuel air leaks

Air Leaks

This is air entering the fuel system through fuel lines, connections, the primary filter and the engine fuel system. Most air leaks happen between the filter inlet and the engine lift pump. Air enters the fuel system thru loose or compromised connections. Depending if the engine is a self-bleeding type or not will determine when the engine will shut down due to a lack of fuel.
